Use this to help others shopping for their setup to see what others use that has a similar mission set that they do. If you have admin pouches or GP pouches, talk about what's in them, ammo loadout, etc.
I'm currently running a 5 cell chest rig from Beez Combat Systems with a warrior assault systems medium GP in the center, flanked by two double mag pouches, and then on the outboard ends i have a radio pouch on my support side and water bottle pocket on the strong side. I have an axl advanced XL crye avs zip adaptor on the map pocket built into the rig.
Inside the admin I put quick access items like a headlamp, phone, etc., pens and paper, pencil, reference cards, map protractor, chem lights, batteries, and so on. Map inside the map pocket.
Currently running the Crye Airlite in black. "BuT BlAcK DoEsN'T eXisT in NaTuRe" I know. And I don't care. I have 3 Crye maritime mag pouches from right to left, and 1 Crye MBITR/bottle pouch ending on my left side. I use this to double up on mags, hold my radio, or I put a water bottle in there. The last thing I have mounted on the front of the rig is the HSGI Ifak. Pretty basic, just an israeli bandage, guaze, chest seal, and a small roll of duct tape. On my sides, I have 2 crye small GP pouches. Depends what I'm doing, but usually put some energy bars, batteries, maps, bandages, purification tablets, or other misc. stuff I won't need super immediately. I had an extra one, so I set up another small Crye GP pouch as a dangler on the front of the rig. I haven't really found something worth carrying and putting in there, so thats where my TQs live for now. Questions, or if pics are requested, I'll get around to posting it up here. Verdict: Is the Airlite a good chestrig? Absolutely, I love the thing and don't regret it at all. Is it worth what I spent on it? Probably not.
I use a Mayflower Hybrid. I prefer having options as far as my side pouches so I choose this over the other rigs mayflower has. I have attached a canteen pouch on one side, which typically carries either a regular canteen or a nalgene. On the other side I have a HSGI Bleeder pouch with my IFAK contents, and a NAR tourniquet holder for a CAT. In the front gp pockets I usually have a red lense headlamp, a lighter, a couple extra batteries, and some little alcohol swabs for tinder. I also put a roll of electrical tape on a small piece of 550 cord. The electrician and 12B in me just can’t help it, it’s useful for so many things, from securing items to making charges and whatnot.
